Up to now the organic production of La Vigna del Nespolo grapes is a real rarity in the Prosecco wine-growing area, bearing in mind that only 2.5% of all Prosecco Superiore has organic certification (in terms of bottles this means about 250,000). The microclimate in this grape production area, with spring rains and mild temperatures, represents a technical and agronomic challenge for plant protection in the vineyard. The absence of chemical treatments in favour of the exclusive use of copper and sulphur from quarries and mines, combined with biocontrol agents and natural adjuvants, are the technical basis for the fight against the main strains of vine disease.
